Susan King, Administrative Assistant

After graduating from St. Louis University in St. Louis Missouri, Susan became an Executive Secretary for the Vice President of Business Development at the corporate offices of The Quaker Oats Company in Chicago. Over the next twelve years, she became Supervisor of Production Planning for seven plants in the US and Europe. After their second child was born, Susan and her husband Mike opened a recording studio in downtown Chicago that made radio and TV commercials for major advertising agencies in Chicago and across the country. She tended to the financial, legal and human resources functions as Corporate Secretary/Treasurer and supervised the support staff of the studio. When Mike retired and the business was sold, Susan began working for Tutoring Resources as manager and she also tutored for the ACT college entrance test.

Susan has volunteered in many leadership capacities in the churches she’s belonged to over the last thirty-nine years and brings that depth of experience to St. Paul’s as an Administrative Assistant since 2014. She currently is a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Sycamore where she serves as an Assistant Minister for Sunday services.
